Tecumseh Community Emergency Response Team
Tecumseh United Methodist Church
February 26, 2011

The Tecumseh CERT meeting came to order at 9:00am. Those present were Herb Whitlow, Jan Kieffer, Dan and Pat Krug, Nancy Rush, Neva Martin, Kevin Smoot.

Pat has e-mail addresses for all members and able to send messages in Herb’s absence.

There will be a Ham Radio Class March 26 and April 2.  It would be good for two members of Tecumseh CERT to take the class. Jan and Kevin both indicated an interest. There are CERT funds available to purchase a radio.

CERT training classes are being scheduled if anyone is needing to make up a unit. CPR will be scheduled for those needing recertification.

March 7 is the date for the local Storm Spotter Classes at Washburn University. There will be a class at 3:00pm and another at 7:00pm.

May 7 is the date for the CERT event at Garfield Park, 1:00-4:00pm. They are needing some help to hand out information and answer questions. The CERT trailer will be there.

Ready Neighborhood packets need to be put together at the Shawnee County Office.

The group discussed the October CERT exercise. ShCo CERT has scheduled Tecumseh Park for October 10, 2011.

Neva suggested a letter go to all community residents with information. It would be a good idea to get it out soon before spring weather is upon us.

The group discussed a get-together for all team leaders and area captains and their families. Pat and Neva will make plans and check with the church calendar for a Saturday afternoon/evening.

Respectfully submitted,
Nancy Rush
