Tecumseh Community Emergency Response Team
Tecumseh United Methodist Church
August 27, 2011

The Tecumseh CERT meeting came to order at 9:00am. Those present were Steve Christenberry, Herb Whitlow, Don and Dot Leakey, Barbara and Andrew Watkins, Dusty Nichols, Erin McGinnis, Dan and Pat Krug, Nancy Rush, Brad and Teresa Hudson, Jan Kieffer, Carolyn Brock.

Congratulations were extended to those recently completing CERT training.

Herb reviewed minutes of the previous meeting.

A listing of needs for activities for our booth at Heritage Day was passed to each. Teresa is heading up the production of “tornado in a bottle” for children on that day. Some supplies are coming in. The TCERT booth at Heritage Day was discussed and it was proposed to enlarge the space as used in previous years.

The Emergency Exercise at Tecumseh Park on October 14-16 was discussed. TCERT will be responsible for a pancake breakfast on Saturday AM and a meal on Saturday PM.

Herb mentioned that there is yet no resolution to the trailer park residents having a shelter in case of tornado warning.

Dusty expressed his thanks to Andrew and others who answered the call for assistance after the recent wind storm.

Steve said that CERT training will likely be made available to USD 501 in order that there would be at least one CERT trained person in each school building.

Nelson told of plans for encampment at Tecumseh Park in October.

Dusty conducted a training session following the business meeting regarding communication.

Respectfully submitted,
Nancy Rush
