Tecumseh Community Emergency Response Team Tecumseh United Methodist Church October 23, 2010   The Tecumseh CERT meeting came to order at 9:00am. Those present were Herb Whitlow, Dan and Pat Krug, Nancy Rush, Neva Martin, Steve Christenberry, Gaye Metheny, David and Linda Brink, Jan Kieffer, Willa Norwood, Cindy Whitsell. Neva announced the Food Safety Training session which will be held here on November 20. It will be presented by Junehee Kwon. Registration through the church office is necessary to have adequate materials prepared. Heritage Day was discussed by the group. It was felt that the CERT location was not particularly good. The booth seemed to be too far off the beaten path. Twenty bucket lids were ordered to sell on that day, 15 remain. More 5 gallon buckets are needed. The group discussed the storage of cots, blankets, pillows. It was decided that we first need to know the size of the folded cots and how the other items are packaged. Most likely a space can be cleared in the new closet. It was suggested that some training sessions need to be started. Some reviews in most areas would be valuable. Pat and Dan told of their experiences attending the UMCOR Disaster Academy in Fayetteville. UMCOR workers go into a disaster site after the CERT workers have done their jobs. UMCOR stays until the last person needing help has been helped. The next CERT meeting will be November 20 at 9:00am. Members should bring their CERT kits to be inventoried and updated. There will be no meeting in December. Steve shared the results of the CERT Volunteer Interest Survey we filled out at last meeting. Members of Rose Hill CERT had also completed the survey. After the meeting some time was spent in organizing the CERT area of the closet. Respectfully submitted, Nancy Rush
