Tecumseh Community Emergency Response Team Tecumseh United Methodist Church October 20, 2009 – 7:00 p.m.   Attending: Herb Whitlow, Dave Sterbenz S.C.EOC Director, Neva Martin, Willa Norwood, Kevin Smoot, Jan Kieffer, Cindy Whitsell, and visitor, Ken Ziegler. Chairman Herb opened the meeting introducing Kenny Ziegler to the group as a possible Team Captain for Area 2. SE 2nd Street/ Hwy 4 east to Goodell Rd. Herb and Neva explained to Ken what the TCERT Group had done so far and what our responsibilities were and the area that TCERT covered. Ken asked questions about the duties of an Area Captain. Dave Sterbenz explained some duties and we also talked about training provided for AREA captains. Ken agreed that this was something he could do and was interested in working in AREA 2. It was suggested that we have Refresher courses during the winter for Team Captains. Herb also said we need makeup classes for several Team Captains. On November 17 at 7:00 pm Gary Montgomery, a retired BNSF hazardous materials consultant will provide a program on hazardous material handling. All TCERT members should attend this meeting. Guests are welcome. Neva asked about the H1N1 Flu, if we should be doing something. Dave Sterbenz suggested: we not shake hands, avoid any physical contact if possible.
