Tecumseh Community Emergency Response Team Tecumseh United Methodist Church November 22, 2008 Monthly Meeting The meeting opened at 9:00 am at the Tecumseh United Methodist Church.  In response to the mailing many new people attended the meeting.  In attendance were Gaye & Bill Metheny, George & Margueritie Forst, Waldean Miller, Marvin & Linda Neukirch, Linda Taylor-Morgan, Ingrid Garczarek, Mark & Lois Elmer, Mark Combs, Pat & Dan Krug, Bob & Jeanne Sebree, Mary Ertl, Larry McCammon, Dick Wolnick, Kevin Smoot, Neva Martin, Herb Whitlow, David Brink, Jan Kieffer, Cindy Whitsell, and Willa Norwood.   Neva Martin, described how the Tecumseh CERT began in 2005.  Herb Whitlow then talked about the generator purchased by the Tecumseh Township and installed at the TUMC  The generator will power lights and heat at the TUMC, which is a designated disaster shelter.  The need for more "area captains" was discussed.  The "Ready Neighbor Program"  was discussed.  All area captains are encouraged to take CERT training.  Plans are underway to have CERT training classes at the TUMC.  There was discussion about having a possible fundraiser to defray costs of publications, mailings, etc.  It was decided to wait until after the first of the year to make plans.  The meeting was adjourned at 9:50 am.  The next CERT meeing is Jan. 24, 2009 at the TUMC.
