2011 ANNUAL CHURCH CONFERENCE
TOPEKA DISTRICT CLUSTER CONFERENCES
TECUMSEH UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
November 16, 2011

Annual Church Conferences were held at Susanna Wesley United Methodist Church. District Superintendent Evelyn Fisher welcomed all attendees to the clustered church conference. The churches represented were Oakland UMC, New Hope UMC, Susanna Wesley UMC, and Tecumseh UMC. She introduced the groups attending and thanked Susanna Wesley for graciously hosting the event. We were led in hymn singing and joined together in unison prayer.
Superintendent Fisher introduced District Lay Leader, Dennis Creech. He spoke to the group about coming to grips with needed changes in our churches in order to keep them alive and functioning.
An opportunity to make a monetary offering took place, our gifts going to help finance a landscaping project at the Washburn University Campus Ministry facility.
                - Celebration of God at Work -
A representative from each church in attendance shared successes and joys taking place in their church during the past year expressing how God has indeed been at work in each congregation.
At this time we were dismissed to separate meeting rooms to conduct the conference business of each church.

Reverend Lynn Lamberty, pastor at Highland Park UMC presided over the Tecumseh UMC’s church conference.
Reverend Sarah Marsh opened the meeting with prayer.
Nancy Rush was approved to be recording secretary for the business session.
Reverend Lamberty, having reviewed our written reports asked for additions or comments regarding each. There were none. He asked if a budget for the coming year had been approved by church council. Reverend Marsh pointed out that Tecumseh UMC does not work from a strict line item budget.
The written report for pastor’s compensation package was referred to and Rev. Lamberty pointed out that since it had been approved at committee level, no further action was required.
He pointed out that as of October 2011, 75% of our apportionment obligations had been paid. Reverend Marsh said that for many years, Tecumseh UMC has been faithful in reaching our goal of 100% by the end of the year.
Attention was given to the Committee on Nominations and Leadership Development printed report listing those lay members willing to serve on committees in the work of Tecumseh UMC for the 2012 year. There were no further nominations and no vacancies to be filled and was accepted as printed by unanimous voice vote.
Reverend Lamberty turned to Reverend Marsh for comments or additions to her Pastor’s Report. She added that she has been impressed and pleased with the care, the love, and the positive attitude abounding in the Tecumseh UMC congregation.
It was moved, seconded and voted to adjourn the business of Tecumseh UMC’s Annual Church Conference.

Respectfully submitted,
Nancy Rush, Recording Secretary
